the Sanctuary Project

James Dillon Project

  1. -a collaboration between James Dillon, Steven Schick, William Brent (live electronics), Jaime Oliver (live electronics), and Ross Karre (video) to revitalize the 10-year-old La Coupure, a sixty minute piece for percussion and other media. The goal is to make an updated version of the piece with portable and accessible technology without losing any of the intricacy and quality of the original performance.

Roger Reynolds’ Seasons

- “Composers Reynolds and Antosca will curate a series of workshops, discussions, lectures, forums and concerts addressing current and also historical trends in the use of technology in music, the role that architecture (performance space) plays in the dissemination of music, art, and technology  – all directed to Washington area residents. They will be joined by two young artists who have already garnered national and international attention, percussionist and video artist Ross Karre (of UCSD and EnsembleXII) and Jaime Oliver (Calit2 and Lima).”

MFA Review Performance

- A collection of 5+ works for solo performer with/without live electronics, percussion, human voice, objects, video projection, other humans, and functional kinetic sculpture (instruments). Each piece acts as an equation where the human performer plays the role of the constant, the variable, or the balancing point between two variables. Extemporaneous personal expression and creativity is brought to the fore via impossibilities which must (should/can['t]) be overcome.
